Port of Call: La Jolla, California

The next stop on our road trip after we left the lively city of San Diego to drive up along the coast to the beautiful beaches of California.Our first stop: La Jolla. About a half hour out of San Diego sits this beautiful beach town. So, here's day two of our Cali road trip:

I just really thought this was funny. Does your chicken do drugs?

In La Jolla, this wealthy beach town, there was this cave you could walk down.

This was the cave from the outside.

These birds were all over!

Not going to lie, this guy under the umbrella was my idea of the typical California lifeguard. Skim/Swim Sweetie would have LOVED him! She's totally into that surfer boy.

Daisies lined the rocky hills on the coast. Tell me it get prettier than this, I probably won't believe you. Surfer Sister pulled one of these and saved it to press and keep.

Sea lions just relaxed in the hot sun on top of the rocks in La Jolla. They were so adorable!

One thing I loved about Cali was that everything was nature-oriented and exercising was part of everyone's life, not just some. Wouldn't you love to have a kayaking club?

This truly defines the Californian Go-Green idea. Spread this word and we may just start to really live green.

This was a beach just for sea lions. They lined this one beach and people shared information about the local issues with the sea lions having their own beach. You'd be surprised to know people have such a problem with it.

Gorgeous pictures! My best friend wants to live in CA when she graduates, so I'll make sure we go to La Jolla when I go visit her!

The Crew

Surfer Sister-aka my best friend on the planet! She may be younger than me, but we are practically twins. We look the same age, she acts my age (in a good way), and we have the same friends. She has the cutes Anthropologie-inspired style and will probably be mentioned in most of my posts!

Beachy Mama-aka my mom (betcha didn't guess that one!) She's an interior designer with more creativity than Better Homes and Gardens. She's also the one whose been influencing us to spend our days on the beach from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Captain Dad-aka my dad (another stumper!) He is the one who started me in sailing and pushed me to always stick it out, no matter how many times I flipped my little boat. We are so close and I don't know what I would do without him.

Lilly Lover-aka my best friend. At this point, she's a member of the family. We met when we were 5 years old at our yacht club and have been best friends ever since. She is my preppiest friend and the only person who tolerates my constant addiction to planning out everything.

Skim/Swim Sweetie-my other best friend. She's the epitome of a beach girl and we spend most of our time together in the car, just driving to school, which is how we became so close.

Fashion Friend-My go to girl when it comes to fashion, college, and basically anything. Her fashion sense will be noted very often, because she knows more about style than most college students in fashion because she's grown up in it. She is the kindest person ever and never ceases to surprise me.
