Port of Call: Hearst Castle and Big Sur

Next on our road trip, we find ourselves at Hearst Castle. Its a castle that this guy built with all of his own money. Its gorgeous! It  reminds me of the Newport mansions, but it had a different feel to it at the same time.

This dock was built just so things could get imported and delivered straight to his construction area.

This was the beautiful outside of the castle. The landscaping was incredible!

This was the actual castle!

The view from the property. Can't deny that this guy had really great taste in location

The beautiful California coast!

This was called Elephant Seal Beach! Check out all the seals!

Aren't they adorable!

A little sing-a-long

wouldn't you love to live in this town?

This is the beginning of the crazy, cliff driving

The scary thing is, this was the safest driving part, and the only part with a guard rail!

Notice the smashes into the guard rail? Beachy Mama was freaking out over this. "Someone has definitely gone over that!"

notice the background of this, yes, there is no guard rail there

Like I said, the natural landscape was beautiful!

The famous scene of Big Sur!

This was Carmel-by-the-Sea, which was the town whose mayor at one point was Clint Eastwood. This was him farm house's sheep pasture.

Carmel's mission

This was the sailing shop! Loved it!

The gorgeous downtown of Carmel-by-the-Sea, which reminded me of something out of the pages of
Harry Potter!

Next on our trip: San Francisco!

May the wind be with you,
