First Day Aboard Junior Year

So, it's official, that dreaded year has begun. The year every upperclassmen warned you about: how hard it is, the pressure, SATs, etc. The year your guidance counselor tells you that you have to work as hard as possible to get the best grades possible. The year you have to manage to get great grades, study and ace the SATs, continue to do your extra curriculars, and manage to still have a social life. Well, let the fun begin!

My first day was a few days ago and it ended up going really well! I have a college system in my school, so I take 4 classes a half, and there are a total of 8 classes. I know I want to major in International Business and minor in English and/or Spanish, so I took classes that would get me there, plus others that I thought would be interesting and cover my credits for certain subjects. (aka: AP Chem) I ended up getting all teachers that I really enjoy, so I couldn't be happier! Unfortunately, all of these classes involved tons and tons of study time, along with oodles of homework. Hopefully, by the end of this year or next year, I'll be rewarded for all the hard work.

This year will certainly be busy, but with my Lilly Pulitzer Agenda by my side, I'll be good to go. Plus, I'm an upperclassmen now, but I'm not the let's-pick-on-the-freshmen type. Well, I'm also shorter than most of the freshmen, so that may not go over well.

But now, its back to books, and back to uniforms. Here's my school look.

-navy blue polo
-navy cableknit style knee socks
-navy blue and white plaid uniform skirt
-black Sperry Top Siders
-pearl earrings
-Tiffany and Co. Anchor Pendant Necklace
-J Crew headband
-Vera Bradley lanyard
-L.L. Bean Pink backpack
-Lilly Pulitzer Agenda

I swear, it looks a lot more cute than that! My skirt is not so nun-looking and my polo is not buttoned up all the way. But anywho, whether you're going to school, or your kids are going to school, hope you have a safe and healthy school year!

May the wind be with you,
The Sailor in Pink OoXx

  1. Good luck! We both have the first day of school, and I'm actually kind of nervous. Ugh, uniforms, they're just a hassle. Have fun!!

  2. Have fun! My uniform was actually kind of cute. And I kind of miss it on days when I wake up late for class and actually have to make an effort.

  3. We had such stringent uniform requirements and weren't allowed to wear anything beyond the colorways of the dark green and navy plaid jumper. Don't you love your Lilly agenda?

Good luck this year in school. It's true that it's an important one. (I do alum admissions interviews.) You'll do well, I'm sure.
