Keep Calm, Sail On

Our family is in the process of rebuilding our front house, while we live in our back cottage that was redone last year. I've been working on the design of my new room a lot! One thing I plan on doing is framing tons and tons of pictures! I want to edit all of them into all sepia, to go with the vintage beach vibe of the room. But I want major pops of color, too. My color scheme is beige brown, sea foam green, coral, and some other blues in the mix, along with a little bit of a golden yellow.

I've seen so many posts on the Keep Calm and Carry On, which was so cute but totally not my thing. Then, I saw one that said this:

My heart skipped a beat! I love it! It's so perfect! I want to get old wooden, aged frames and hang it amongst the other pictures, or even just hang it by itself somewhere. For $8.00, it's so worth it! Plus, it totally defines how I am about sailing. Some freak out, but I prefer to not get angry, because sometimes, keeping calm is all that you can do.

This is a great saying! I love the colors you described for you new room. Be sure and post a pick when it's finished.

I've been MIA so I read your other posts. You come up the cutest outfits for EVERYTHING!

The Crew

Surfer Sister-aka my best friend on the planet! She may be younger than me, but we are practically twins. We look the same age, she acts my age (in a good way), and we have the same friends. She has the cutes Anthropologie-inspired style and will probably be mentioned in most of my posts!

Beachy Mama-aka my mom (betcha didn't guess that one!) She's an interior designer with more creativity than Better Homes and Gardens. She's also the one whose been influencing us to spend our days on the beach from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Captain Dad-aka my dad (another stumper!) He is the one who started me in sailing and pushed me to always stick it out, no matter how many times I flipped my little boat. We are so close and I don't know what I would do without him.

Lilly Lover-aka my best friend. At this point, she's a member of the family. We met when we were 5 years old at our yacht club and have been best friends ever since. She is my preppiest friend and the only person who tolerates my constant addiction to planning out everything.

Skim/Swim Sweetie-my other best friend. She's the epitome of a beach girl and we spend most of our time together in the car, just driving to school, which is how we became so close.

Fashion Friend-My go to girl when it comes to fashion, college, and basically anything. Her fashion sense will be noted very often, because she knows more about style than most college students in fashion because she's grown up in it. She is the kindest person ever and never ceases to surprise me.
