Port of Call: Yosemite National Park

Next on our road trip was the famous Yosemite National Park. After driving what felt like FOREVER AND A HALF we finally arrived!
Yes, it was April and it was snowing there! The altitude there is thousands and thousands of feet above sea level. It's really amazing!
It may be a bit hard to see from the picture, but these trees were so unbelievably tall!
This is called the Grizzly Giant and it is the largest Sequoia tree in the world!
That mountain in the way back is called Half Dome. It rises over 5,000 feet above the valley.
They had waterfalls of all sizes all over!
There were kayakers coming down this little river and they said they had kayaked a couple miles! We would have loved to do that, but we didn't bring the right types of clothes :[
Another view of Half Dome!
We stayed at this quintessential ski lodge in the Park. It was beautiful!
To go see the giant sequoias, we had to walk about 2 miles because they had to close down the road due to the snow and ice. These sequoias lines the entire road!
To get an idea of the regular sequoias' size, here's me standing on the bottom of one.
One of the sequoias fell in a storm or something a long time ago. This is the bottom of the tree, or at least part of it.

So there's my trip through the beautiful Yosemite National Park! We could only stay a day so that we could go see Nappa Valley and Sonoma, but we plan to go back there soon with all of my cousins. Its a great place if you like photography, camping, kayaking, or just nature. I definitely suggest going here!

May the wind be with you,
The Sailor in Pink OoXx
