Sailor's School Search: Georgetown University

As I've mentioned before, I am DYING to be a Hoya! Going to Georgetown is such a dream of mine. About two weeks ago, I went to visit. Let's just say it was AMAZING!
We got on campus and the weather was perfect. It was sunny and warm, so you get the perfect view of Georgetown.
We went straight to the Athletic Department to speak to the sailing coach. He was so so nice! One thing that was different than any coach has ever told me was that I need to love the school before I love the sailing team. He spoke all about the sailing team and it just sounds perfect! They are as of right now 5th in the country, too. I'm hopefully going to practice with them sometime next year when I go down to spend the night in a dorm.
We went to admissions to get a map of campus, but one thing I love about Georgetown was that it was so compact that I really knew my way around by the end of the day.
We had time before our Information Session so we went to the bookstore and I got this navy sweatshirt! I liked it because it was cuter than just a regular sweatshirt and I could wear it with jeans and top-siders without looking like a slob.

On the tour and information session, I learned...

I want to major in International Politics and they have a great school for that but within your major, you must graduate with a proficiency in a language. Plus, you have to study abroad. YESSSSSS! That means I won't feel bad about leaving sailing and I'll be able to really become fluent in at least one language. First priority: mastering Spanish. Second: French. Third: If humanly possible to learn a third, Chinese.

They have great job and internship opportunities with their School of Foreign Service Internship Database. People work from Capitol Hill to the United Nations!
They are a very spirited bunch! That makes me so happy because my school is super spirited, especially when it comes to basketball, so I'll feel right at home!

The school is gorgeous! I bet during the winter the snow makes it look like you are walking through Hogwarts!

The school was absolutely perfect for me. From the moment we walked on campus, the people were so friendly and willing to help us. The buildings and the landscape was beautiful. The academics can't be beat, especially for my major. The sailing coach was the nicest coach I've ever met. This school gets a 500 out of 5.  I love the idea of living in Washington and Georgetown is the perfect place to spend four years. Hopefully I'll be able to get in because if I do, I'll find a way to be there in a heartbeat!

Has anyone gone to Georgetown or visited? What do you think of the school or the location?

May the wind be with you,
The Sailor in Pink OoXx
